We are built to be strong. God saw to it that we are equipped to live full lives. We all have what it takes but for some of us, strengths are untapped, latent in the core of our being, waiting to be tapped and awakened by tough situations.
Every situation, no matter how hard has a hidden gift that teaches us.
We learn patience when our default is to rush. We learn to have more mercy when we become apathetic and not feel others’ pain. We learn courage when we doubt our capacity to accomplish great work. We learn to be silent than end up adding more noise. Most of all, in the midst of pain we learn to worship God.
When faced with obstacles some quit before the race is over, refusing to take any further discomfort of forging another step when exhausted. That’s why many fail because comfort is alluring and we’d rather be comfortable than bear more painful steps to achieve a goal.
Let us live in constant awe and anticipation of how God will show up when life becomes hard. It is when we are battered by the storms of life that His glorious presence is clear; it is when we are thrown into the bottom that we rise up to be the children of God who live the lives we are meant to live.
Let us accept pain because it brings out the best in us, shaping us to accomplish effectively the work we are assigned to do. Sometimes someone or something dear is taken away from us to lead us closer to God because He wants to show us how He comforts and make us trust Him in peace.
Then we emerge stronger.
