Freedom

“I have the right to do anything” you say, but not everything is beneficial. – 1 Corinthians 6:12

We think that the greatest power all of us possess is the freedom of choice- the freedom to do anything we want, the freedom to swallow anything we want and the freedom to follow anyone we want. Have we ever stopped to consider that side by side with that power is our power to stop ourselves? To stop when we find ourselves even considering to plunge into something not beneficial to our souls is a power that is even more difficult to perform especially when human weakness comes into play and choices are in the weighing scale. Which way to go? Which thing to choose? This is when the real girth and magnitude of our power is measured.

Truly, everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial. Our choices bare the truth about our faiths, about where our eyes and hearts are dedicated and directed to. Whom and what do we honor? Ourselves? Material things? Our Creator?

The answer lies in our souls and seen in our actions. Words are but overflows of what truly are asleep or awake inside of us.

Love joyfully.
