Sowing

From the Bible and from many other sources, this law of the harvest has ruled human life: “As you sow, so shall you reap.”

Isn’t it true in just about everything we do?

We harvest what we plant. If we plant perseverance, we harvest success. If we plant laziness, we harvest failure. If we sow kindness, we reap love; if we sow hatred we reap animosity. Our current state reflects our sowing life. We know we can’t harvest apples if we plant oranges.

When we don’t get the results we want, first we ask ourselves, “What actions did I take to reach my goal? Have I been faithful to my dream? If I am, did I do what I takes to reach my goal? Is my dream strong enough for me to take the necessary steps?”

If the goal is not strong enough then our actions won’t be bold enough. If our goal is important enough then there is no obstacle we won’t hurdle. We won’t focus on obstacles, instead, we focus on possibilities; we focus on ways not on excuses.

If there is any explanation as to why we are in the place we are now, let us go back to our sowing. What have we sown? If we are in a space where we feel fulfilled, then, we have sown right. On the other hand, if we are in a space where we feel like a failure, bored and unfulfilled, let us revisit our sowing. Most possibly, we are not sowing actions to reach our dream destination, we are merely dreaming and imagining without working for it.

Let us examine our own sowing life and take the necessary corrections so we can sow right.

To good harvest,

Joji
