My God is my rock. – Psalm 18:2
Even if I go to the deepest darkness, Lord, I will not be afraid for You, God, protect me (Psalm 23).
Because God is our rock, we are secure and we do not fear disaster. This is the kind of life we want: being free from the shackles of fear and insecurity, knowing that someone very strong and mighty has got our back. This is the reward available for all of us if only we all know how God manifests Himself in the lives of those who believe that His presence alone is our greatest reward. There is no question of how wide, how deep and how far will our experience be if our surrender is complete and unwavering. This is the life that awaits those who meditate on the things above. There is no promise that life will be struggle- free for in this world there will be tribulations, the Bible says, but we will be storm- proofed when we walk with God who freely gives us all things and gave us His only Son, Jesus, who died in shame carrying the sins of mankind so that we will not suffer God’s wrath but took it upon Himself to suffer on the cross. As I meditate on this, I get teary-eyed, for neither I nor anyone will do this to save someone.
And so, He now becomes our rock, our security in times of trouble. We run to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, we will not be shaken.
Believe.
To your security,
